About

An idea for many years; Word Loft finally came to fruition enabling Sue Claremont to blog, and to share short stories, features and poetry appealing to a wider audience. Feedback is welcome, so please leave comments and look out for the latest updates on social media.

Born in London, Sue now resides in South West England with her husband. Their grownup son and daughter have moved on, and they are proud grandparents.

Sue’s past occupations have included book department manager, teaching assistant, and gifts and art shop owner. However, she left full-time employment to concentrate on writing, mainly to finish her novel, Lavender’s Green. Since then, she achieved third position in an international writing competition and has been delighted to have short stories and many features published in national magazines.

She was thrilled to be “The People’s Friend” Writer Of The Week to coincide with the publication of her poem ‘Precious Pebbles’ in their Special magazine, edition number 228.

Now her crime mystery novel, Lavender’s Green has been completed, she is seeking a publisher or literary agent while writing her second.
