Our unexpected Christmas visitor is a joyful memory every year when the decorations are heaved from the loft, and our place is a twinkling wonderland again. The little creature was the inspiration for a children’s story and a series of ten illustrations. They may not be of professional standard, but painting them gave me a great sense of achievement and brought Clarence Noel to life for my family.
